Microsoft has recently announced that it will offer a downloadable update of its latest operating system, Windows 8 Pro, for only $ 39.99 in 131 Markets.
While posting on Microsoft’s Windows Blog, communications manager Brandon LeBlanc writes that the $ 39.99 upgrade will be available for download from any user whose machine currently runs Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7. And according to Brandon LeBlance “if you want, you can add Windows Media Center for free through the “add features” option within Windows 8 Pro after you upgrade”.
The Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant will make the upgrading process simpler by walking the user through the upgrade process step-by-step from purchase to download and then of course installation. He also goes on to mention that the Upgrade Assistant will help check to make sure the PC is ready for Windows 8 and will provide a detailed compatibility report that will give you a complete overview before you go ahead with the upgrade process.
If you aren’t comfortable with the online process, you can grab a packaged DVD version from a local store to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro which will be available for $ 69.99 during the promotional period.
The promotional period ends on January 31st 2013.
