It seems that Google wasn”t the only one prepared to serve us delicious treats. At the Google I/O BlueStacks; a company famous for bringing Android apps to Windows earlier this year, announced the alpha release of their familiar Android App player for Mac OSX.

The Android App Player gives users the potential to seamlessly run their android apps on Mac.  Users can also directly download their favorite games and apps into BlueStacks. For Windows users having their favorite apps already installed on their Android phones can simply use the “Cloud Connect” feature and have their apps synced over in no time! Here is  a little demo on BlueStacks cloud connect for Windows:

Earlier this year in March when the App Player was announced for Windows it became an instant success reaching  a staggering 1 Million downloads in just 9 days!

Here is a demo of Blue Stacks running on OSX Lion:

On the Mac Alpha release currently you have just 14 apps to play around with but BlueStacks have said that with the next release there will be an option to add apps. BlueStacks has also announced that it will be adding new app developers every month so we expect the nifty App Player to blossom over the next couple of months. It should be ready to offer a plethora of cool apps and games by that time.

You can  directly from BlueStack”s website. The size of the App Player installer on Mac is 94.1MB and takes up a whooping 823.1MB of disk space once installed.
