Free Quick International Calls With Google’s Hangouts

Google has recently announced that you can make a quick call to over 25 countries using google’s hangouts. (Link to Google Support Page) And by quick call they mean one minute. This offer will be valid till end of 2014 as per the press release. If your call lasts for a period longer than one minute than Google will charge you for that. However, you will need to have some credit in your account before you are able to avail this free opportunity. Google’s Hangout application for desktop and mobile has long allowed its users to make free calls to US and Canada using an internet connection.

According to Google, the first minute will be free while making a call to following countries:

  • Australia
  • Belgium
  • Brazil
  • Canada: Almost all calls to the U.S. and Canada are free from all countries where Hangouts calling is available. A few U.S. and Canadian destinations will cost USD 1 cent per minute depending on the specific phone number. The 1-cent rate may vary depending on the local currency. You can look up the cost through thecalling credit page for your Google account.
